The E-SCALE (m)OOC is developed within a research project about the way Deaf people learn written and signed foreign languages. The project is conducted by the Laboratoire de Recherche sur le Langage of Clermont-Ferrand, France, and the Gallaudet University in Washington DC.
Our ambition is to optimize visual learning methods, specifically in telecollaborative online environments. E-SCALE pursues pedagogical objectives for teaching sign languages and through sign languages, and it is also aimed at producing resources and data for researchers.
That’s why we ask all participants to sign an informed consent form. You can consult it in ASL and in written English. Feel free to contact us if you have questions or if you want us to reexplain some things.
Be careful not to mix up the E-SCALE (m)OOC with the L’@CCES project, which is independent (see here for more information about the L’@CCES consortium).
